Youth Worker: Collective seeks to ensure youth workers have direct influence on all aspects of the Youth Worker: Collective (programs, projects, dreams, etc.). Therefore, a core component of the Youth Worker: Collective is strategic planning and continuous improvement. The Continuous Improvement Committee was an outgrowth of both the Youth Worker: Collective Feasibility Study and the need to assess our current programmatic impact. Committee members Tristen Fredrickson, Dana Curran, Rebecca Goldberg, Vicky Valentine, and Jason Wyman met in February to decide a course of action for the beginning of 2008. The Committee decided to evaluate our major programs (Brown Bags, Youth Worker: Collective Power!, I am a youth worker because..., AFA TAC, Community Conversations, and Days of Rejuvenation and Self Care) using Worksheet 11 from Mike Allison and Jude Kaye's Strategic Planning for Nonprofit Organizations. The Committee reviewed number of participants, expenses and revenue, community need, measures of success, and more. In April of 2008, Tristen Fredrickson compiled a summary report of our findings. You can download it by clicking here. In September 2008, the Continuous Improvement Committee launched the 2008 Youth Worker Survey. The purpose of this survey is to get feedback from youth workers on past programs/events, seek input on future offerings, and measure our impact in the community. The Continuous Improvement Committee will review the results of the Youth Worker Survey and make recommendations to the Youth Worker: Collective Steering Committee for 2009 outcomes. Steering Committee members will review both the results of the Youth Worker Survey as well as current Resources and set the 2009 Outcomes for the Four Points of Connection.
